Apple engineers have created an artificial intelligence (AI) model for working with images. Information about it has been published on the arXiv preprint server.
The corporation’s specialists worked on the model together with researchers from the University of California, Santa Barbara. MGIE (MLLM-Guided Image Editing) is capable of cropping images, resizing, rotating and adding filters to images using text queries.
The company says the released model can be used for simple and more complex image editing tasks. MGIE combines two different ways of using multimodal language models.
