A non-obvious early symptom of dementia has been identified

Falls down stairs and impaired motor coordination are early signs of dementia. These non-obvious signs of the disease have been reported by UK charity Alzheimer Scotland, writes the Daily Express.

Organisation noted that the dementence and Alzheimer’s disease are most often associated with memory loss, mental retardation and problems with the speech, but symptoms can vary depending on which part of the brain is affected. Experts say that one of the lesser-known symptoms of the disease is difficulty with movement.

‘A person with dementia may slip, trip or fall more often. You may notice that they wobble when walking and don’t lift their legs.’ – Alzheimer Scotland highlights.

Dementia can also make it difficult for a person to walk down and up stairs. This is because the brain is unable to estimate distances correctly due to impaired visual-spatial perception. In the case of such symptoms experts recommend the consultant with light, as well as the safety of the person installed comfortable and remove the floor of the objects that could fall.
