There are three medically proven ways to be happier, says psychologist and coach Jeffrey Bernstein. He listed them in an article for Psychology Today magazine.
Firstly, Bernstein told us that it is important to think positively – focusing on the positives, even when things are difficult, but not ignoring the problems. ‘Positive thinking is not about denying reality. It’s about accepting the challenges of fate with a solution-focused mindset. Happy people practice gratitude, acceptance and acceptance of good things, even the smallest things,’ – he explained.
In addition, he continued, happy people are helped by relationships with others in which they can show their kindness and generosity. ‘Happy people invest time and effort in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with family, friends and the community. These bonds provide the emotional support, sense of belonging and shared experiences important for a diverse and joyful life,’ – Bernstein said.
Finally, the psychologist explained that personal development that fits with changing circumstances is important for happiness.
